This qualification replaces the Level 2/3 NVQ. Whilst completing this qualification learners will develop their knowledge and understanding about children and young people across the 0-12 age range. Sure Start Developmental Programme for 2-3 Year Olds

The programme is a Department of Education initiative which aims to promote all areas of children’s development, equipping them with the skills needed to help them in their transition into the pre-school. Throughout this programme the child is considered to be a self-learner and an initiator of their own play so the programme provides a holistic approach to children’s learning based around a play based learning environment for children aged between 2 and 3 years old. The programme incorporates a range of age appropriate activities which aims to fulfil the children’s curiosity whilst also providing a range of experiences that will promote all areas of their development.  Included in the wide range of activities are arts and crafts, rhymes and stories, messy play, imaginative play, construction and physical activities. (Next Intake intake September 2024)
