West Bann Development works to improve the social, environmental and economic wellbeing of our community through education, support services and local initiatives.
Who We Are
Building Stronger Communities Together
West Bann Development (WBD) is a community-based organisation located in Churchlands, a designated Neighbourhood Renewal Area in Coleraine. We work to support the regeneration of the West Bann area by creating opportunities for local people to learn, connect, improve their wellbeing and become more involved in their community.
Education, Health & Wellbeing
We provide a wide range of activities and programmes for local residents, including IT and educational courses, exercise classes, complementary therapies, community relations programmes and social activities.
With more than eight IT and educational classes and seven exercise classes taking place each week, there are plenty of opportunities to learn new skills, meet new people and improve your health and wellbeing.
Early Years & Family Support
We are committed to supporting children and families within the West Bann community. Our programmes include Level 2 and Level 3 childcare courses, parenting classes, and speech and language activities.
A supporting crèche is available for many of our programmes, helping parents and carers take part. IT and educational courses, along with crèche provision, are available free of charge to residents of the West Bann area.

Community Facilities
Our Community Centre is also used by a range of community, voluntary and statutory organisations to provide services and activities for local people.
Our facilities include meeting rooms and a fully equipped IT Suite, which are available for use by other organisations and groups.

Good Morning Causeway
Good Morning Causeway is our telephone support service for older and vulnerable adults, helping people remain safe and independent in their own homes.
Service users receive a friendly daily telephone call, with nominated contacts alerted if a call goes unanswered. The service provides reassurance for individuals and their families while helping reduce social isolation and connecting people with activities and services in their local community.

Supporting Local Enterprise
Located beside our Community Centre are six affordable Business Units designed to support new and developing businesses.
By providing accessible business premises, we aim to encourage local enterprise, create employment opportunities and increase the range of services available within the West Bann area.
